There are several approaches to the Cabot Trail:

1. From the Canso Causeway take the Ceilidh Trail on Rte. 19. Turn left onto Rte. 219 at Shore Road in Dunvegan (which is 11.5 km. beyond the village of Inverness); continue on Rte. 219 to Margaree Forks; turn left onto the Cabot Trail; continue through Cheticamp and Cape Breton Highlands National Park to Cape North Village.
2. Exit 7 off Highway 105 at the Red Barn through Middle River to Cheticamp and on through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park to Cape North Village.
3. Exit 11 off the Highway 105 through Ingonish Beach and Cape Breton Highlands National Park to Cape North Village.
